Art & Experimental
Experimental film, experimental cinema or avant-garde cinema is a mode of artistic filmmaking that rigorously re-evaluates cinematic conventions and explores non-narrative forms and alternatives to traditional narratives or methods of working.
Many experimental films, particularly early ones, relate to arts in other disciplines: painting, dance, music, literature and poetry, or arise from research and development of new techniques or technologies. An important niche, experimental films have always formed the vanguard that goes on to determine the mainstream.
We invite filmmakers to submit shorts and features with an experimental approach. The festival will be held in London, a city known for its diversity and innovation in the creative arts, in November. Please read our terms and conditions by clicking on OUR STORY.
